About Debi Stadlin
As an adult, the event that most shaped choices I have made was my Mother’s sudden death at age 58. No one in my family was prepared for this. Within a month of her death, my Aunt, her younger sister, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and died within a year at age 47.
While this was ongoing, I was in the middle of a busy life as a mother, full time corporate lawyer, “up” for partner during that year, and renovating a house with a new husband. I quickly had to decide what was important to me, and how I was going to align with those values.
As I went through the grieving process, I realized that my mother and I, who were very close, had never had a conversation about death. It was really hard for me to not know what her wishes were, her beliefs, and to also deal with all of the financial things that had to be done and help my father. With my Aunt, I was able to talk to her, find out her wishes and put a plan in action that she felt good about.
I continued on the path of corporate law part-time for a while longer, but did not feel fulfilled or that I was really serving people in a way I was capable of, a way that made a difference. My search ultimately led me to the field of Estate Planning.
In addition to the legal knowledge required to help others plan for death and disability, I bring my financial background as a CPA, my creativity as an artist and my sense of deep commitment to serving others.
My goal is to guide my clients through planning for death and/or disability in a holistic manner, establishing goals for protecting yourself and your loved ones. The ultimate goal is a plan that will bring you peace of mind.
